The parallels between alternative, complementary and integrative medicine and environmentalism (such as the “green”) movement are increasingly evident.

And a chapter in Healing at the Borderland of Medicine and Religion gives voice to this common ground.

But what’s noticeable now is that industry is noticing. Sparked perhaps in part by Al Gore’s film, An Inconvenient Truth, many are waking up to the fact that green buildings are healthier as well as cost-effective when properly designed.

But what I really like is the syllogism in this article’s title: Efficient Buildings are Green – Green Buildings are Efficient. (This is from the ARC Advisory Group on Industry Trends). Makes sense, right? A equals B, therefore B equals A.

Sometimes profound truths are hidden in syllogisms and sutras, small pieces of threads which, like sutures, pull a much larger body of meaning together.
