RALEIGH, NC - As part of his ongoing Wellness Presentation Series, John C. Pittman, MD, of the Carolina Center for Integrative Medicine (CCIM), will present "Understanding the Benefits of Detoxification and Colon Therapy" on Tuesday, July 3rd from 7:00-8:00PM. This free presentation will be held at CCIM's office at 4505 Fair Meadow Lane, Suite 111 in Raleigh.

Colon hydrotherapy, also known as colonic irrigation, is a safe, clean, energizing, and relaxing method of removing harmful toxins and waste from the large intestine. By introducing a gentle flow of warm filtered water into the colon, the contents of the colon if softened and loosened, allowing waste to be easily expelled. Colon hydrotherapy is not a new treatment idea. Enemas were recorded as early as 1500 B.C. in the "Ebers Papyrus"-an ancient Egyptian medical document. In the early 1800's, enemas were used to help maintain health and stave off disease. Today, people are once again discovering the many benefits of maintaining a strong and biologically sound colon.
