Korean Pine Nut Could Help Those With Obesity

According to a report in Reuters, research suggests that an extract from the Korean Pine Nut could be useful in appetite suppression.

The substance is called pinolenic acid which is extracted from Korean pine nut.

Apparently "levels of two hormones that act as appetite suppressors, cholecystokinin and glucagons-like peptide, increased by 65 percent and 25 percent respectively in the subjects."

Increased efforts at researching the biochemical components of folk remedies and dietary supplements should help clarify whether these in fact can be effective in treating disease.
