New Integrative Pediatrics Blog for the Whole Child

Dr. Lawrence Rosen has just established a new blog dedicated to integrative pediatrics. Well done.

The blog begins with a comprehensive, well-linked definition of integrative medicine, also describing integrative pediatrics.

Integrative medicine (or IM) is not simply a "hodgepodge," but rather, in the quoted definition, a:

"practice of medicine that reaffirms the importance of the relationship between practitioner and patient, focuses on the whole person, is informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate therapeutic approaches, healthcare professionals and disciplines to achieve optimal health and healing."

(The definition was developed and adopted by the Consortium of Academic Health Centers for Integrative Medicine.)

The new blog will include information on nutrition and other complementary therapies designed to help the whole child stay that way. Kudos to Dr. Rosen and integrative pediatricians joining this venture.
