Do cell phones chronically pressed up to the brain cause damage or simply increase the rapidity and flexibility of human communication?

The question is really a yes-yes, although the first yes is controversial. The Guardian reports:

Mobile phones do not pose health problems to adults in the short term, according to the results of a major six-year research programme published today. However the research also points to a “slight hint” of a cancer risk for long-term users.

That “slight hint” apparently means there is some data but it will take further research to explore. The cost of the present research: some £8.8m. Researchers dismissed the idea that cellphone use could lead to environmental sensitivity.
